Homes of Hope
One of the most basic human needs, and one of the most pressing needs in our area, is the need for shelter. In the villages surrounding Hope Land, countless families live without the most basic protection of a home. These families are exposed to heat and rain, snakes, and thieves, among other dangers. The health of the children suffers as well - when you cannot stay warm and dry, you cannot stay healthy.
It is our desire to enter into this struggle, building not only individual houses, but a community of homes where families can be safe and comfortable and have access to all of their basic needs - such as water, education, and fellowship, to name a few.
Partnership with Homes of Hope
To see this dream come to fruition, we are excited for our partnership with a wonderful organization called Homes of Hope. Homes of Hope is a YWAM ministry based in YWAM San Diego/Baja that has done great work worldwide to see families off the street and settled in safe, comfortable houses. We built our first house in Uganda in December 2013 and a second house in May 2014 and hope to build many more.
We’d love to work with you and your family, church, or group to see another family settled in a new house! Here’s how it works: You get a team together, raise the funds necessary to build a house ($8,500 ), and come to Uganda for a week or two. We find a family in need of a home, and we work together to build them a home and get them settled in just a matter of a couple of weeks! Interested? Contact us for more information.
