Make your Faith a living Adventure!
Within 5 months, students of the DTS learn to know God and make him known: We believe that once you discover true relationship with God, faith and all areas come alive and become a living adventure. A DTS covers the foundations of mature Christian discipleship and serves as the first step for any further YWAM bible schools or for serving on YWAM staff.
More than Head Knowledge
DTS students learn how to read the Bible, pray, and serve God and their community in lectures, but also in practical games, exercises and outreach.
What does a DTS look like?
Part 1: Lecture Phase
During lecture phase, students read through the whole Bible, discover their identity in Christ, think about their purpose and calling, and more. Topics covered in the lecture phase include:
-
The character and nature of God
-
Interpersonal relationships
-
Missions and evangelism
-
Hearing God’s voice
-
Sin and repentance
-
Gifts and ministries of the Holy Spirit
-
Prayer, intercession and worship
-
Spiritual warfare and dealing with occult
-
Understanding other religions and cultures
Part 2: Outreach Phase
During the 12 weeks of outreach, DTS students practice what they learned in church and community ministries: preaching, praying for people, cleaning up the streets, serving food…

DTS Leader: Ruth Nakitende
Ruth has led many DTS classes. She has a special talent for making her students fully welcome while also enabling them to be fully honest: In Uganda, many people feel like you need to have the “label” of Christian to be socially accepted, but may still mistreat others or feel afraid to be truly honest about their need for healing. At the DTS, Ruth and her team invite students to truly find healing and grow in their walk with God.
