Why does early Education matter in Uganda?

Many children in Uganda lack basic reading skills by the time they complete primary school. So, only 1/4 of students even continue to secondary school, let alone university jobs or other higher qualified jobs. This prevents entire generations from getting out of poverty and instead makes kids vulnerable to harsh manual labor, early marriages, or crime.

Affordable Education for around 270 kids

Wairaka Hopeland Nursery and Primary School offers a solid education to around 270 children from the Jinja area. Kids start at around age 3 in the nursery classes (3 years) and then go on to primary school (grades 1-7). They learn reading, writing , English, and a foundation of Christian values. Though space and resources can be limited at times, we try our best to make lessons engaging through games and crafts.
