12 Acres of organically-managed Farmland
We have been blessed with arable land and good rainfall much of the year. We grow and raise things like bananas, mango, tomato, sweet potato or chickens and pigs on a total of 12 acres of land.
Supplying Food and Jobs to our Community
After Covid, the farm was in a rough state. But little by little, we have been rebuilding the land and turning it into a ministry: The food helps supply the base, and the income employs local men people from the town. We hope to expand our staff and production, so that we can use the income to supplement things like school fees for poor families or provide more food for the community.
Farm Leader: Anita Mpererwa
Anita came from western Uganda with her 2 young children to YWAM. At the time, the YWAM base had neglected their farmland due to lack of staff and the pressures of Covid. As of 2023, Anita took over the farm leadership and has turned the land into a productive place. Her vision is to increase the profit of each crop, so that the farm can employ more local people and become a food ministry for the community. That vision is not completely a reality, yet, but it’s already taking shape: Anita and her team currently grow and raise 4 acres of banana trees, many fields of corn and sweet potato, hundreds of chickens, around 50 pigs, and many fruit trees such as mango or jackfruit.
