Thinking about serving God in Uganda short- or long-term?
Work with us as a volunteer or staff member!
Volunteer: short-term, flexible serving
If you are a follower of Jesus who wants to test the waters of missions in Uganda, you can come work with us for a few weeks to a few months. Specialized experience is great, but not required. Example areas of volunteer work could be on the farm, community outreach, children's ministry, building houses, at the vocational or primary schools... send us a message at info@ywamhopeland.org and we will find a place for you!
Longer term: Join the Staff!
If you have completed a DTS at any YWAM school worldwide, you can apply to be a staff member at YWAM Hopeland. We are looking for people to join our team in various areas, such as teaching in the bible schools or working in sustainable agriculture on our farm. Send us a message at info@ywamhopeland.org and introduce yourself, or apply as staff with our application form!

When the base is open, meals are served in the dining hall at 1pm and at 6.30pm. We serve traditional Ugandan cooking such as matooke (mashed starch banana), rice, beans, posho (stiff corn flour porridge), meat stew, g-nut sauce (made of peanuts, which are called groundnuts in Uganda), and cabbage. Sometimes we also serve tea and fresh fruit. Also, sometimes the base kiosk is open, selling items like soda or sweets, as well as practical day-to-tay things like notebooks, toilet paper, laundry powder or toothpaste.
How much does it cost?
How much does it cost?
This will depend on your country of origin and the duration of your stay: To ensure that people from low-income countries can join, we don’t charge them the same fee as someone from a high-income country. Also, staying per month is cheaper than for individual days. If you’re coming from a high-income country such as the US, room and board will cost 35,000 UGX per night (about 10 USD), and 200 USD per month. To find out more about pricing, contact us at info@ywamhopeland.org.
